Evaluation report

Purpose:
The purpose of my site was to make people aware of their and others safety on the road whether it is on a bike or in a car everyone needs to be safe on the road, hopefully my site can aid people to be safe, with pages about road rules and cycle safety it has a variety of learning points for people, i personally think that it successfully promoted road and cycle safety

Target Audience 
The target audience i am hoping to attract are teenagers who are new to driving and anyone who cycles, especially young children.

Constraints:
I kept my site simple and made the effect of blood, a warning to people who do not follow the road rules and that dont be safe, i compressed the images so that the site runs smoothly and i have tested it in a range of different web browsers, i tested my site in google chrome, firefox and safari.

Strengths:
The strengths of my website is that it is relatable to everyone and it has a strong message about road and cycle safety, it is also accessible by a wide range of hardware and software.

Limitations and Improvements 
My website isn't that limited because there is no time-limit where it will not work in providing rules and safety for cyclists and road users, the improvements i done compared to my concept designs were  to change the background from aqua colour to black with a blood splatter pattern to make the awareness about road and cycle safety more prudent.I changed also where my links sit which is now on the side rather than above below the banner. this idea is more like my concept 2 design.

Description
When you first see the index page you will see a brief informant of what the site is about, then there will be the allocated links down the left side, there each of the links will display what the link is about and a picture with the original source next to it.

Storyboard

This is my story board the background i have chosen is the white one with the Kuranui college emblem which is also relatable to the banner, the colours of the links are maroon and blue which are Kuranui college's school colours.

Backgrounds

These are the two backgrounds i made, they are simple but the rugby ball relates to the Kuranui College 1st XV and my other background which is the Kuranui emblem

Banners

These are my two banners for my blog, i like the bottom banner with the white because it shows the kuranui emblem.

Colour Schemes

I will be using the colours blue, maroon, black and white because it is the kuranui colours

I have done my initial brief and also my final brief i am now going to start my colour scheme, buttons, banner and background.

Final Brief

Client: Paul Rodgers, the coach of the Kuranui College First XV and manager/ Co coach Darryl Rothery
Purpose: The Client wants a website that will promote the Kuranui First XV where you can keep up to date about current games, scores, pictures and player profiles.

Specifications:
• The website must be completed according to the deadline proposed by the client.
• The website must not breach any copyright with images, text, fonts or otherwise.
• The coding of the website must use correct and up to date web standards.
• The website must be compatible with all popular Operating Systems.
• The website must be compatible with all popular Browsers.
• Meta tags must be on each page to allow it to be found by search engines.
• The websites size must be kept to a minimum to allow everyone to view it quickly on any
internet speed.
• Fonts used must be web safe to make the website present the same for every computer.
Fonts used will be Arial for both Body and Headings, with the linkbar using the font Myraid
Pro. Due to Myraid Pro not being a web safe font, it must be embedded in images to display
correctly.
• The screen resolution should be suitable, 1024x768px.
• The website must be accessible by the disabled. To do this, it must use alt tags for images
and keep text embedded in images to a minimum to allow text-to-speech programs to
operate efficiently.
• Image quality must be web standard – 72dpi, as this is the maximum that a normal computer
screen can display. Any higher quality is pointless as it will increase loading times without
increasing displayable quality.
• The website will contain a home page, a player page, photo gallery and a team page
The home page will consist of the past weeks results and links to other pages
The player page will have each player with photos and their position plus try scores and points.
The photo gallery will have photos and videos from previous games
The team page will display our logo, shirts and sponsors
• The colour scheme i will use will be blue, maroon and white and/or black

Initial Brief

The Client:The Chosen client is the Kuranui College 1st XV, specifically the coach Mr Paul Rodgers

Purpose: The purpose is to promote the Kuranui 1st Xv and also to gain sponsors to help with fee's and equipment.

Target Audience: The target audience i intend to target are businesses who are adults or young adults

Look: The overall look is to keep it basic and bold with lots of pictures

Today i done heaps i caught up on work the things i done are: made a new gantt chart, screen resolution, image types and fonts. i made a new gantt chart so i can stay on track and not play games.

What are the three most common image types you can publish to the web: jpeg, gif and bmp

What is the implication of this on your project: I will use other types of pictures for my website.

Define - Web Safe Font: web safe fonts are fonts that are already on the computer as default and which have not been downloaded 

Define - Web Font: Fonts that are downloaded but are safe to download

Screen Size

What is the most common screen size in use in 2013? 1024x768

What resolution will you design for? 1024x768 because it can work on the web and most have that screen size.

What is the maximum number of pixels that can be displayed on a screen? 200x200

Discuss what implication will screen size and resolution have on your website: my screen size is 1024x768 this means that there wont be a lot of scrolling but it will fit most screens because its the size most people use.

Digital design

Brainstorms: I am going to use the Brainstorm technique so i can visually create ideas for my blog.

Gantt Chart: i will be using the gantt chart so i can be organised, on what i will be creating

PMI chart: This will be for me to monitor the positives, minuses and the interesting facts.
